LUCY MARTIN PAWLIKOWSKI is a Polish born artist who for the past 20 years has made Australia home. Currently she lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.
Exhibiting professionally since 1983 Lucy has worked as a painter, printmaker and more recently developed her interest for digital art, transposing her approach to painting within the graphic medium.
Her work experiments with mixed media techniques, which enhance the textural properties of the canvas or wood panel surface. To extend the conceptual framework, her work investigates the visual effects on very smooth surfaces, combining drawing and painting.
In her most recent work, nature acts as a metaphor for
lived experience. Everything that lies beneath becomes the subject matter. Lucy's work embodies the associations present in nature with human expression
and experience. The forms which are created are inspired by nature
and evoke a sense of these human emotions.
Recently she has travelled extensively to the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe. Her trip resulted with a rich visual and conceptual research material which she plans to use in her future work.
She has been exhibited in Poland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia
and in the UK.
